My Flood Experience

The progressing flood had stroke many people; but fortunately my family and I are safe and dry living in a hotel at Prachinburi.  Two weeks passed since we left Bangkok because we believed that our house can possibly flood. My extended families are also living under the same roof with us; it’s such a warm family bonding.  The reason we chose to settle at Prachinburi is because my family’s industrial estate are located here, very close from our hotel indeed. Gladly, our business isn’t affected by the deadly disaster.  My current situation is splendid; I have everything I needed for my daily life. This includes my musical instrument, my laptop, and a superb internet access. Most of my personal leisure is taken away by the increasing amount of homework given mostly by Ms. Renee. Even though there are numerous assignments, I did a terrific job in completing and handing them in on time. In addition, I feel thankful for all the works which are fabulous practices to keep my brain fit and ready for Monday the 21th. Even though this extended break is harmless for me, I still hope everyone is safe and sound!

The disastrous flood that is ongoing in Thailand continues to hurt our country with no mercy.  This exact minute that you are reading my blog, people are dying, crops are failing, and industries are flooding.  Right now, the flood is affecting Thailand’s environment with intoxicated water and polluted wastes. There is also a shortage of food and water which causes the controllable price to rise unpredictably. In addition, huge amount of people are not getting paid since companies and industries are closing. As a result, some chooses to ignore their moral compass and start robbing others in times that the police are busy. In a long term matter, this terrible disaster will affect the economy of Thailand. The government might have to borrow some money from other countries to spend on restoring the Siam back to the times before the flood occurs. Furthermore, some industries will close down which will make people lose their jobs. In conclusion, even though this flood is probably one of the most severe disasters in the history of Thailand, we can at least try to make our country flourish once again by lending hands to each other because we are one big family.

In needy times such as this flood, individuals who aren’t being affected by the disaster ought to lend a hand to help the sympathize victims. As members of the community, there are many ways that we can support others during this hardship. Example, we can attend a community service called, “Wipe the Tides” at Central World to gather donations by cleaning cars’ windshields during a traffic.   I feel that this will be very enjoyable if I get to do it with friends. It’s also a fantastic fund raiser for the flood victims, too! Sadly, because the flood unexpectedly caused my family and me to relocate at a distant area, I have had some difficulties and was not able to go out and clean windshields.  However, if you are free this weekend it will be a great experience and also fun to join this community service!

Who Am I?

In this "Who Am I?" project, I had a chance to reveal my exclusive personalities to public which I felt very honored. In the VDO, I included a category of 'Inherited Traits' which I put in most of my selfhood. Overall, I'm a gentle person who has a wisdom. Often, I work very hard, in fact sometimes I'm very desirous to finish a project in one night. Most of the time, I'm a pessimistic guy who has a very hot temper and a poor anger management which right now I'm trying to cope with it. Other than stated in the VDO,  I have a lot of tolerance toward others because I believe that everyone is unique in their own ways.

I respect my own personalities that are the aspects of my life. I appreciate my parents and friends who really tried their best to shape my identity and make me myself today. My parents also taught me moral lessons when I was young to build a foundation of righteous inside me. I developed my own moral compass and self-discipline from what they had instructed me. All the categories in the VDO had at least something that impacted who I am. Family and friends influence my personalities since they are ones I spent most of my time with, whatever their personalities are, I have the same as them.

In my opinion, this project is an interesting one which made me explore deeper into my own self. It made me realized how family and friends made me the Prem of today. I think it would be more convenience if we get to use any pictures and unlimited time for the music. It really troubles me when I had to find something on Flickr which doesn't match what I'm looking for. Generally, I had both fun and stress moments during this project and after all, I look forward to read comments on my blog. Hope everyone likes my VDO ! :)

Birmingham Grid of Learning Result

On one of the first classes with Ms. Renee, she told us to fill out the Birmingham Grid of Learning to find out how we learn best. On the left shows the result of this survey, I'm quite pleased with the outcome of the diagram. I always thought that it's best for me to work by myself, however it's surprising to discovered that I'm also interpersonal since I never like to work in groups. From this picture, it shows that I learn visually better than wordy. Personally I think it's not always true. It's obvious for me to get a high score in number smart, body smart, and music since I train a lot of those categories. Overall, I agree with these results from the survey, I also realized new things that I never thought about myself before taking this. It's really fun and enjoying doing the Birmingham Grid of Learning.
